Harry and DiGiorgio visit the hospital’s doctor who eventually remembers where he recognises Scorpio from. Take a close look at the wood paneling behind Harry.

"It's important you remember. There's a 14 year old girl who's suffocating."

The doctor takes Harry and DiGiorgio to the hospital side door, points in the direction of Kezar Stadium, and says that’s where he believes the man with the wound works. Look closely at the brickwork detail behind the doctor (below).

"I think the groundskeeper let's him live there." "Where?" "Kezar Stadium."

“I think the groundskeeper let’s him live there.” “Live where?” “There…Kezar Stadium.”

In 2009, the Park Emergency Hospital Building is now the home of the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Natural Areas and Volunteer Programs. The building was used as a hospital from 1902 until 1978, and as an ambulance station up until as recently as 1991 (Source). The images below were taken in 2009 – the door Scorpio entered through is at left on the curbside, while the doctor took Harry and DiGiorgio out through the door in the driveway at right.

The interior scenes appear to have been shot inside the building in 1971. Remember the wood panelling detail behind Harry at frame 01:00:51 (below) ?

Below is a view of the wood panelling on the same interior wall in 2009. Sorry – the photo quality is very poor, the window was dirty and has a metal cage on the outside. Look closely to the left (below) and you’ll recognise the wood panelling Eastwood sat by.

Looking through the window again reveals a doorway to the right of where Eastwood sat (below):

In 2012 the Park Emergency Hospital building underwent a $2 million restoration including seismic upgrading. Further details and up to the minute project status reports can be downloaded from the Golden Gate Park Park Aid Station renovation page.

If you’re visiting, the Park Emergency Hospital building is only a 2 minute walk east of Kezar Stadium.

was the ‘Jesus Saves’ sign a pr0p or did it actually exist? I’m from SF and was quite little at the time it was shot, so do I remember it or have I just seem Harry a zillion times?
